RBFR’s Mission

Reality Based Fitness & Rehab, is a cash-based Physical Therapy, Strength & Conditioning and wellness practice located in Chandler, AZ.  RBFR specializes in bridging the gap between traditional rehab/therapy to help you get back to sport and life. The end goal is to help reduce future pain and injuries by focusing on sustainable strategies for fitness and athletic development; especially for the aging athlete! In order to provide the best care, great effort is taken on my part is to stay up to date with the latest scientific (aka “Reality-Based”) information to ensure that the results achieved are by design, and not by chance.

Let me take the guesswork out of what you should or shouldn’t be doing!

What to Expect Each Session

The initial evaluation, which can last 60-75 minutes, will provide a thorough physical examination to help discover:

  1. What is going on with you?
  2. What can you (the client) do to improve your situation?
  3. What can I (the therapist/coach) do to help you?

Since every client has unique needs and goals, I have no recipe approach to use, but rather, principles of gradual exposure to formerly sensitive movements or activities and progressive resistance exercises as tolerated. Each session involves a re-evaluation of the key findings discovered in the initial evaluation, followed by appropriate (as needed) hands-on/manual therapy which may involve a combination of soft tissue/massage work, assisted stretching, nerve mobilization and joint mobilization/manipulation.

Sessions are one-on-one to help achieve faster results than is possible in typical insurance-based physical therapy clinics, where patients often see a licensed physical therapist for only a few minutes, before being handed off to a tech.

Personalized care to get you back to doing what you love is the goal!

My commitment is to continually strive to improve your overall health while encouraging better movement habits to promote improved physical and mental performance throughout the lifespan. I believe that we are all athletes and we are never too old to improve! And with the proper care, it is possible to sustain a very high level of function as we age, while reducing the need for unnecessary surgery or medication!
